Jade has voted for every measure that made Gaia’s world possible. She has defended the crime statistics, the order, the silence. In public, she is unshakable.
Then, mid-session, in front of the council, her body responds to a touch that is not happening to her. The chamber falls silent. The unshakable woman shakes.
What follows is not only her private horror: it is the first time the perfect world’s wound appears in public—on the body of a lawmaker.
One question becomes impossible to escape:
When the system that promised to protect you is the reason no one will believe you, what do you do?
And as she pieces together what was done to her, she is forced to confront the deeper question:
If the order she swore to uphold has failed even her, whose order is it protecting?
